Did you know you can create an invitation with your voice?

You can and you must.

Most people don’t create an invitation because they are pushing, driving their ideas, their words.

Most people feel they need to convince or say a lot of words but that shuts the door on inviting people in through your voice.

Trying to get it right, having a grip on your voice…no invitation.

Think about when you use your voice in a way that is inviting…?

Your people closest to you.  You create an invitation because you feel comfortable, less or not judged but yet when you go to the office or online in a video or podcast or even in an interview, no invitation.

Judgement or the potential of it so you have to pull back…or so you think.

But it’s costing you.

The expert invites us in.

The expert knows they know.

The expert knows they don’t have to know it all.

When you can use your voice as an invitation, the entire world changes…so does your following, retention, revenue!

Speaking with Authority


Speaking with authority, commanding ANY space you walk into.  That’s today’s topic and it’s a critical one.  Commanding authority, filling the space, ensuring you are captivating your listener and having a presence when you go into any arena, whether you are comfortable or not is critical.

 

Far too often we don’t speak with authority and for many people, it’s circumstantial.  If I feel comfortable, if I’ve practiced, if I know what I’m going to say then I can speak with authority but what about the other times?

 

I might even challenge whether you truly speak with as much authority as you could.

 

Today in this episode I’m going to be touching on a very important topic, authority that is in a rubber band ball with commanding a presence, speaking with confidence, feeling confident…

Presence and Impact

This week’s podcast is all about how actors and on camera training is actually similar to entrepreneurs and business professionals and their goals when it comes to using their voices.

It might seem like they are different…but they aren’t.  Actors and professionals are after the same things…presence, commanding the space, being memorable, making an impact, drawing people close for deep connection…

I have to tell you, the number of times I’ve heard from someone that they aren’t going to be an actor or a speaker is so frustrating.

Maybe not if you don’t want to be an actor or if you don’t want to learn slick speaker voice but this is much bigger than slick speaker voice.

Do you want to command the space?  Have a presence?

If you are doing a video as an entrepreneur, a zoom call with a client as a professional, standing on a stage …you want to command the space and have presence.

So do actors.

But they also want to make an emotional connection with their listeners.   Actors want all eyes on them as they captivate their audience.

They want to use their eyes in such a way that you lean in and connect.

So do business people and entrepreneurs.

And everyone wants to create special moments, magical moments that you can share with the audience.
