Motives

Welcome to the show!

Today I want to talk about why we do what we do when it comes to how we use our voice and the communication choices we make.

This is the final installment in the current lessons I’m learning from training my dog and this episode is the one I’ve been telling you about.

When we make the choice to shame, try to prove, please, make it clear what we know, control we almost always make the wrong choice, and it ultimately costs us.  Why?  Because of the experience it creates for our buyer, team or relationships.

It’s important to look at why we say what we say and why we choose to add tone when we do.  People often don’t realize that their own insecurities and masks and mental noise are coming out in such a way that is repelling current and potential customers or even employees.

Today, I’ll be talking about making better choices when it comes to creating an elevated experience for the client and why looking at the benefit of our choice is so crucial.

I’ll be teaching to this very topic in my upcoming training – How to Effortlessly Attract and Retain your Ideal Client.

The Right Fit

The Right Fit

Welcome to the show!

The right fit is important for so many things including trainers, mentors, coaches…yet we still tend to live in a cookie cutter world.

In today’s episode I’ll be using another story about my dog Birdie and the trainers I’ve hired for her to talk about how important it is to have a right fit.  The best coaches and trainers and even bosses out there lead with their strength, their methodology but they mold it in such a way that it’s a great fit for you.

It’s essential to your success that you don’t cram your style into something that isn’t ever going to bring you the success the very same system brought success to the creator.

I’m going to be teaching to the elevated experience you want to create for your ideal client (or teams) in my upcoming training.  You’ve not heard me train to this topic before so make sure you don’t miss it.  You can register at masterclass.captivatetheroom.com

Rottweiler or Spaniel?

Welcome to the show.

Stop talking to everyone with the same note, it’s costing you.  I’ve learned so much from the training of my dog, Birdie.  One of the most recent lessons came from the trainers who have all been very different.  Each trainer has had a completely different feel, skill set and dog preference.  It’s been a little bit confusing just like what you might have experienced as you’ve learned different methodologies or worked with different leaders.

But that is the point of this video, you will work with different types of people, leaders, clients.

Stop treating them all the same; stop talking to them all the same.

A Rottweiler takes an entirely different tone of voice than an English Cocker Spaniel.  Your voice stories and masks are playing a huge part in the sound you reveal.  If you use your English Cocker voice on a Rottweiler, you are going to have some problems.  Think direct vs. indirect.

The goal… play all the shades of you so that you can know your audience and effectively communicate with them so that they will hear you and give you what you want faster.

Maybe they want to be led

Welcome to the show!

Meet Birdie,

She’s my greatest teacher now and it’s been truly fascinating to see how closely training a dog resembles voice and communication.
In today’s podcast I’m starting a brief series about Birdie and all that I’ve learned. From leashes to trainers to the exact breed of a dog, there is so much voice and communication tied in.

The first lesson, that I’ll discuss today is about leadership and using your voice when you feel a desperate need to keep people happy.
It may or may not have entered your mind that those people or person, boss, colleague or client you are trying to keep happy could very well be desperate for you to lead them.

In today’s podcast, I’ll touch on how.
If you’ve not discovered your voice mask, make sure you check out the voice mask quiz to discover what sounds and stories you might be hiding behind.
