Voice is like…

Today, I’ve got a question for you.  Voice is like…?  I recently heard my friend and former student Rita of Unbox Your Gift Podcast interview a politician.  In that episode Rita asked this woman a question about politics but the question was so profound and so relatable to voice that I had to do an episode on that very question.

Voice is like an athlete, an actor or a musical instrument.  There is so much more to the question but that is the core of the question and today’s episode.

Voice is Critical in a Recession

Some say we are in an economic downturn.  I say, you need your voice more than ever if that’s the case.  In a moment in time when it seems like working on one’s voice would be a luxury, it’s actually one of the most critical things you can work on.

Why?

All the insecurities your client or potential client faces, best not come out in your voice or it’s deal off.  The problem is, chances are excellent they will.  Sounds of hesitation are processed in the subconscious of the buyer as a big ole no.

So many sounds that come from your own insecurities, your subconscious, are coming out in your voice and they are costing you in tiny ways that add up to big financial loses.

Now more than ever your ideal clients need reassurance, trust, safety, expertise and knowing you are the person that is not going to drop the ball of them.

Bad Advice Part 1

 

Welcome to the show!

I actually don’t want you to think of what I’m teaching today as bad advice, I want you to see that some advice is working against you.

Today, I’m talking about the concept of just go live, just show up no matter how bad you are.

First, there is no bad.  Second, you could immediately repel your ideal client and it might take them awhile to come find you again.

I do believe that just showing up is not the answer.  Yes, I want you to show up and well before you are ready but it’s critical to take into consideration sounds that really could hurt the initial experience your ideal client has when they first hear your voice.

You may be shocked by this concept but after you listen to the episode, I think it will all make sense.

Creating a Massive Referral Business

Creating a massive referral business is something I hear many people say they wish they could do.

The problem I find is they are focusing on the wrong things.  I have a massive referral business and I built it simply from the elevated experience I create for my buyer.

When it comes to creating a referral business and a great experience, we have to look at authenticity to what degrees of it we use in relation to what we want our ideal client to experience.

When we can line up the best version of the authenticity, we need to reveal it in order to create the best buyer experience where they know who we are and what this experience will be like from start to finish. Then we can effortlessly draw in clients that want to refer us and they then refer us to all their colleagues.  The bonus, they leave us raving reviews and become customers for life.  My students generally never leave.
